Brooke Briggs Scholarship Fund

The late Brooke Briggs. Brooke was recognized as a Top 40 under 40 in Hampton Roads in 2015. In addition her to dedication to the community and to volunteering, Brooke also received a life-changing heart transplant through the LifeNet Health Foundation.

Brooke Briggs was an active Virginia Beach Jaycee and former chapter President who passed away suddenly in August 2016. Six years before she passed, Brooke contracted a viral infection and received a life-saving heart transplant through the LifeNet Health Foundation which gave her a second lease on life. Following her transplant, Brooke was dedicated to helping those in need and inspiring others to do the same. She was an outspoken supporter for organ and tissue donation and the Virginia Beach Jaycees are continuing her mission for awareness of the crucial services the LifeNet Health Foundation provides. In loving memory of the late Brooke Briggs, the Virginia Beach Jaycees, in collaboration with the LifeNet Health Foundation, have established a scholarship fund in her name. These annual scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors in our community who have a passion for community service and a connection to the mission of organ/tissue donation.

The VB Jayceess and the LifeNet Health Foundation want to give a gigantic THANK YOU to all our supporters who came out to the inaugural Brooke’s Bash life celebration and fundraising event. Between the race donations and the lunch proceeds we’ve got a healthy scholarship of about $5,000 to date. WOW!
