2017 Volunteer Photo Gallery

Throughout the year the VB Jaycees participate in and volunteer time to numerous events. For a look at all our event and member photos, check out our Facebook page!

2017 Shamrock 1/2 Marathon/8k Beer Pouring:

For the first time ever, the VB Jaycees were selected as the charity of choice to assist the St. Patrick’s Day inspired half-marathon and 8k. With 40+ volunteers on hand (both current members and legacies) we poured thousands of beer in a few short hours. Thanks for having us, J&A!

2017 Pancreatic Cancer Action Network // Purple Stride

Pancreatic Cancer, and it’s devastating effects, have hit pretty close to home for many of our members. As a result, we’ve become passionate about raising money to research this terrible cancer. The VB Jaycees fundraised, had a walk team AND hosted an after-party where proceeds benefited PanCan. Thank you for your support!

2017 Hot 100s KindFestival @ Hunt Club

For the inaugural Kind Festival hosted by radio station Hot 100, The VB Jaycees supported the event through beer and Orange Crush sales. Check out our bartenders! As with most events, if we can, we sell past years’ ECSC t-shirts and the funds go to our VB Jaycees Charities foundation.

2017 Ultimate Frisbee Beach Championships

For the third year in a row, Virginia Beach has hosted the Ultimate Frisbee Beach Championships and players come all around the world to play some frisbee on our sand. This is a three-day volunteer event and our members delivered! From brutally hot set-up temperatures (90+ degrees) to 50’degree windchills the following two days, our volunteers braved the weather and stuck it out. Can’t wait for next year!

2017 Clean the Bay Day

In support of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, the VB Jaycees participate in the annual “Clean the Bay Day” and we are typically assigned Rudee Inlet as our “home” site. This year we collected over 70 pounds of trash in one short morning. This is a favorite event by many members and we’re looking forward to picking up less trash as the years go on – let’s keep the bay clean y’all!
